We know that libraries are many things to many people. Our unique Library of Things offers items you wouldn't expect to find in a typical library collection. From instruments to garden tools to costumes, there's something for everyone!

WIFI HOTSPOTS

Borrow a hotspot and you are borrowing the Internet! Must be 18 years of age.

HIKING & CAMPING EQUIPMENT

Tents, backpacks, walking sticks, binoculars, maps cooler, cots, and air mattress.

MUSICAL INSTRUMENTS

Want to try out a ukulele or keyboard? We have them!

YARD TOOLS

Push mower, rakes, shovel, push broom, hoe, pruning set, leaf blower, power washers, and more!

HOME TOOLS

Tools for around the house, from a cordless screwdriver to a multi-purpose steam cleaner.

SEWING TOOLS

Borrow our sewing machine (thread and needles not included). Knitting and crochet needles are also available.

CAKE PANS

Borrow a pan that fits your special occasion. We also have a bread machine and other culinary tools.

HOLIDAY COSTUMES

Santa, the Grinch, Mr. Potato Head, and more; liven up any holiday party!

SEEDS

We have vegetable, herb, and flower seeds available for free at the Library - including organic, heirloom, and native varieties. We also accept seed contributions so we can keep the Seed Library going strong!

Need a metal detector, Ouija board, or Tarot card deck? Look no further!

Museum Passes

We have passes to many local museums and other cultural institutions, granting you free access to some of your favorite places! These passes are available to Philipstown residents and have a 3-day checkout period. Museum passes may not be held in advance and must be picked up at the Butterfield Library location.
