Appointments can be made through our calendar. At the top of the calendar page, enter the word "passport" into the keyword search and press Enter on your keyboard. Review the appointment options, select an appointment, click the "REGISTER" button, and complete the registration form. If the appointment is marked as FULL, that means the slot is booked. Let us know if you cannot make any of the available dates and we will do our best to accommodate you.

You will receive an email from Butterfield Library confirming your appointment and sharing details about what you'll need to bring. If you don't receive a confirmation email, please contact the Library. 

We can accommodate up to 4 family members per appointment (contact us if there are more than 4 people in your family).

Yes, we take passport photos for new or renewal passports (but we cannot accept renewal applications; you must mail those on your own). The charge is $10.00 per photo.

HELPFUL PHOTO HINT: take your photo in the privacy of your home using a passport app on your smartphone! Email it to us and we'll print it for your appointment. Be sure to carefully check the photo regulations on travel.state.gov.

Fees to the Library:

1. Execution Fee (required): $35 per application
2. Photo Fee (optional): $10 per printed photo 

Fees to Butterfield Library can be made by cash, money order, personal check, or debit/credit card. There is a 3.5% surcharge for credit or debit card use.

Fees to the U.S. Department of State: refer to the Fee Calculator on travel.state.gov.

Fees to the U.S. Department of State must be paid via check or money order (no starter checks).

You will need to bring proof of ID, such as a driver’s license; proof of U.S. citizenship, such as an original or certified birth or naturalization certificate, or a previous U.S. passport; and the appropriate fees. A list of documentation requirements will be emailed to you by a Library staff member when confirming your appointment.

Age 15 or under: Both parents (or the child’s legal guardians) must appear with the child. Click here for more information if both parents cannot be present. You must bring the following to the appointment: evidence of the child’s U.S. citizenship, such as an original birth certificate; evidence of the child’s relationship to parents (original birth certificate); and parents’ government-issued ID (such as driver’s license).

**WE CANNOT DO ADULT PASSPORT RENEWALS.** Renewals must be mailed on your own. We can offer help if you have questions, but cannot process your renewal application.
